Half-Life 2: Remastered has appeared on SteamBD, suggesting that the game will be announced, and/or released on Steam soon. This remaster is listed as a game from Filip Victor, the creators of the Half-Life 2: Update mod, which already offers games enhanced visuals, several bug fixes and other minor improvements. Half Life 2 HD Remastered HD Texture Pack V2.1 is 3.56GB in size, features plenty of new 2K textures, and you can download it right now. According to the modder, version 2.1 fixes the Highway 17. The remastered Half Life 2 would have Half Life 2 AND it's two episodes all packaged into the same game (which is arguably the way it should have been) making it good value for money, assuming it's not overpriced. Users on steam who have all HL2 and it's two episodes will get the remaster 100% free.

The holy grail in our opinion would be Valve releasing master versions of its textures for the game, so the game could receive a texture quality update.
